The Chinese National Under-23 Football Team is the representative team of the Chinese Football Association (CFA) for international competitions. The team is composed of the best players of the Chinese Super League and the China League One. The team competes in the AFC U-23 Championship and the Olympic Football Tournament. The team has qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
The team has enjoyed great success in the AFC U-23 Championship, winning the title in 2018, and finishing as runners-up in 2016 and 2020. The team also reached the quarterfinals of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, and the quarterfinals of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
The team is managed by Italian head coach Marcelo Lippi, who is also the head coach of the Chinese national team. The team is captained by Shanghai SIPG’s Wu Lei.
